Phillip Botham MSN, RN, CWON is a nationally recognized Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurse with over 30 years of experience in the field of nursing. He currently leads a team of eight Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse clinicians and ten Vascular Access Insertion Nurses at a 750 bed academic medical center in the southeastern United States. Phil teaches the specialty practice of wound and ostomy care to nursing and medical students, as well as practicing clinicians. He is a content expert in practice standard setting, program development, monitoring of best practices, and compliance with regulatory requirements related to wound and ostomy care. Phill has received awards and recognition for developing quality and patient safety programs focused on pressure injury prevention and treatment. With a passion for teaching bedside clinicians the fundamentals of wound and ostomy care, Phill enables organizations to improve clinical practices and work processes, resulting in outcomes consistently exceeding industry benchmarks.
