He worked for over four years as Prevention Manager for the FDA Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation Network (CORE). There he dealt with over 100 foodborne illness outbreaks. He has received FDA approved training relating to FSMA Preventive Controls and Foreign Supplier Verification Program Qualified Individual and Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training. Dr. Weber has the "inside" experience regarding how to determine what, most likely, was the "root cause" of outbreaks, and how the food service sector is impacted by outbreak events. He understands how the media and relationships with Federal and State regulatory agencies impact the food service sector. In 2017 and 2018 he served as an expert on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants on many cases relating to restaurant related outbreaks, including the 2018 outbreaks linked to Romaine lettuce contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 from the Yuma, Arizona area. He also worked on the 2017 Listeria in frozen vegetables outbreaks linked to products purchased at retail.
