About the Expert
Hello. My name is Dr. Rob Tomaro. I am an expert witness in the field of Forensic Musicology, specializing in creating comparative studies of musical works, one of which is alleged to have been copied from a previously published piece. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to tell you about my background, qualifications and experience. Currently, I am serving as the Music Director and Conductor of the Beloit Janesville Symphony, the professional regional orchestra of Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. I am also a retired professor of music and have served on the faculties of St. John's University in New York, Rutgers University in New Jersey and Beloit College in Wisconsin. I am a composer and music producer and have been nominated for several Grammy Awards in recent years. I am the author of Contemporary Compositional Techniques for the Electric Guitar in United States Concert music, which was published by the Journal for New Music Research in the Netherlands. I have been working as a Forensic Musicologist for the past four years and have enjoyed great success for my clients in several high profile cases. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Theater Arts from Northwestern University and a Master of Arts Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree from New York University.
