About the Expert
Dr. Weber has over 30 years experience working on food safety issues with the USDA, FDA, private sector, and trade associations. He has extensive media experience, and has testified, under oath, numerous times before Congress. He serves as a consultant and expert witness. He most recently worked for over four years as Prevention Manager for the FDA Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation Network (CORE). While CORE Prevention Manager he dealt with over 100 foodborne illness outbreaks.He has received FDA approved training for FSMA Preventive Controls and Foreign Supplier Verification Program Qualified Individuals and Produce Safety Alliance Grower Training. In addition to serving as an expert for a number of individual foodborne illness cases, Dr. Weber has served as an expert relating the 2017 Listeria in frozen vegetables outbreak, and most recently, the 2018 Romaine lettuce E. coli O157:H7 outbreaks linked to the Yuma, Arizona area. He has also contributed to FDA Produce Safety Rule "Educate before you regulate" training programs for FDA, State regulatory officials and Extension professionals.
