Ralph Collipi has 16 years of experience in the occupational health and safety aspects of a variety of manufacturing operations including circuit board manufacturing, integrated circuit manufacturing, photoresist and thin film operations, laser processing, electroplating, wave soldering, and surface mount assembly. This work also helped him to develop expertise in many topic areas including chemical storage and handling, job hazard assessments, personal protective equipment, powered industrial vehicles, respiratory protection, noise and hearing conservation, air sampling, fall protection, confined space, ergonomics and compliance training development and delivery. Ralph Collipi is also experienced in industrial structural fire brigade operations and trained and ran a volunteer 24 X 7 brigade at a two million square foot manufacturing facility for 15 years.
Ralph Collipi has extensive knowledge and experience in hazardous materials response and has trained hundreds of emergency response workers in OSHA HAZWOPER to hazardous materials technical level. He designed, developed and trained volunteer workers in these emergency programs for Western Electric in 1980 and then later for AT&T. He was the Safety Director for the AT&T Network Disaster Recovery Team and Special Operations Hazardous Materials Team from 2002 until retiring in 2015. He was instrumental in the coordination and execution of numerous joint exercises with local emergency organizations over the past 36 years.
Mr Collipi led the development and execution of a 2-day disaster worker safety training program that trained over 1600 workers from 2009 through 2012.
Mr Collipi has served as the designated company witness for AT&T in asbestos litigation for the past 6 years. This work included performing extensive records search, review and evaluation; developing knowledge on asbestos containing products that were used in telecommunications operations; and learning the Bell System history relative to worker safety programs and company medical programs. All of this work was done to support depositions completed since 2009 and the ability to be deposed as needed in a number of pending cases.
Mr Collipi has also been designated as a witness in investigations by regulatory agencies in a variety of matters related to environment, health and safety compliance. He is also experienced in developing processes and documents to support compliance with consent judgment orders and other enforcement actions.
